Description
I've become intrigued by the differences between the Japanese "Children Crossing" sign and the one I'm more familiar with in Australia/New Zealand.
In both cases, the girl is in front and the boys follows, yet it is also apparent that the actual leader (the most adult/the carer/the one with more road-sense) is different in each country.
In Japan the boy guides and instructs, and perhaps restrains [male-dominated society].
In the West, the girl just seems to drag her little brother along like a burden, or a dog. They hurry, as if late. She also has some sort of horrible leg deformity, poor lass.
I morphed them together, to highlight the differences.
